Destination Šibenik – idyllic Adriatic seaside beautyScenic views of Šibenik, on Dalmatia's central coast, are unique with its impressive four fortresses surrounding the Dalmatian city of limestone and terracotta rooftops. Set on a hill, the historic town of Šibenik leads down to the crystalline blue sea, dotted with breathtaking islands visible all the way to the horizon. This original medieval Croatian town dates back to 1066.

The city's most recognised landmark is the historic, UNESCO protected architectural wonder — St James Cathedral, built AD1431 – 1535. It's a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral to the top of St Michael's fortress; the highest point of the town. Thanks to these heritage structures, Šibenik is most recently famous as a film set for the globally popular Game of Thrones television series.

Nearby natural attractions include the Kornati Islands and Krka River Waterfalls, two of Croatia's most beautiful national parks that belong to the Šibenik region.
