City Gallery Osijek working on an active transformation of the existing historic architecture in the direction of revitalizing the space program and develop strategies to make them relevant to local and national center of contemporary art, film programs, and performing and performing arts, dedicated to presenting and producing, and researching and documenting, and popularizing all forms of contemporary art practice and contemporary theatrical and cinematic expression, continuous exhibition, stage and film programs, projects and programs presenting different artistic disciplines, such as modern dance, experimental film, experimental music, etc., as well as supporting the theoretical reflection of contemporary culture and art theoretical research and educational programs (lectures, talks, seminars, round tables, workshops), with the publications. Their program activities to the City Gallery Osijek begin to affirm the contemporary models and strategies of institutional presentation of visual arts and film production and theater projects. We developed the currently the only local cultural center that actively promotes a progressive and innovative works of contemporary art, and theatrical and cinematic expressions of national and international authors and established a wide network of local and international collaborators.

These activities we aim to expand the cultural scene in the city of Osijek, the assertion of new centers of cultural events through the ongoing operation of various programs which will significantly contribute to the decentralization of culture in Croatia, while local audiences and meet with current and innovative artistic practices and redefine the cultural identity of the city of Osijek.

Two and a half years we were told to call the German Foundation Robert Bosch Stiftung and applied for the program Robert Bosch Cultural Managers in Central and Eastern Europe, and from 1 August 2008. We accepted a visiting institution.

In 2009. we continued with a regular exhibition program, but it is important to note that we have managed to produce a first and a show - and thus run the new theater project. The play is a dramatization of Croatian premiere of 18th chapters of the novel "Ulysses", James Joyce, titled "Molly Bloom". With Prime Minister realized several projects as a prelude to a new theater scene - a concert performance of drama, "Before / After," by Roland Schimmelpfennig, and several performances of domestic and foreign plays.

Since the beginning of program activities (April 2007). Realized a total of 54 exhibitions, 169 prijekcija short and feature films, documentaries and experimental films, two music workshops, 30 lectures, eight concerts, 21 guest plays, 7 guest dance performances, two concerts contemporary theatrical performance pieces, 1 Croatian premiere plays, 5 performances, 25 interviews with artists and cultural workers, literary evenings, 7, 12 4 events and festivals.

Programs per year, on average, visited by over 3000 citizens, especially students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Art Academy in Osijek.
