Revenues from foreign tourists in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 9.2 per cent
Online applications are open for the Annual Croatian Tourism Awards 2026, which will once again this year be awarded to the best of the best in Croatian tourism as part of the Croatian Tourism Days (DHT) to be held on 19 and 20 November 2026 in Poreč, at the newly opened Valamar Pical Resort. This is a joint project of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Croatian Chamber of Economy, which encourages competitiveness, innovation and sustainable development, and improves the quality of tourism products and services. The awards ceremony itself will be held as part of the DHT grand finale, with a live television broadcast by the Croatian Radiotelevision. The deadline for submitting applications for all categories via the official DHT website is 4 September 2026.
The awards will be presented in numerous categories covering various aspects of the tourism offer, including Tourism Event or Festival of the Year, DMC Tour Package of the Year, Gastronomic Experience of the Year as well as awards for achievements in sustainable, business, active, cultural, nautical, rural and health tourism.
Special attention will be paid to people in tourism – the "Anton Štifanić" Annual Award will be presented to individuals, companies, institutions and associations, alongside the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the prestigious "Man, the Key to Success – Employee of the Year" award. The crowning moment of the ceremony will be the declaration of the most desirable destination of the year, namely the presentation of the "Champion of Croatian Tourism" award.
In the nautical tourism segment, awards will be received by the best large and small marina and charter company. Recognition will also be given for Beach of the Year, Promotional Campaign of the Year and Campsite of the Year – with an additional division into large and small campsites. In the Hotel of the Year category, recognition will be received by the best hotels in the segments of luxury, boutique, heritage, congress, lifestyle, wellness hotels and family holiday hotels.
In the Tourism Destination of the Year category, recognition will be awarded to destinations in multiple subcategories, including rural, city break, continental, coastal, island and authentic coastal destinations. Following last year's premiere awards, recognition will once again this year be received by the best hosts – Local Host/Your Host, from each county and the city of Zagreb, while the overall best host will be announced at the national level.
Applications for the Annual Croatian Tourism Awards are open to all stakeholders in Croatian tourism and represent an opportunity to present excellence and examples of best practices, their promotion and public recognition.
