Built and opened in 1929, the Hotel immediately became the center of life in Zagreb and a favorite place for visitors who recognized its quality. It was designed by a very well known architect in Europe, Dionis Sunko, who elegantly incorporated the hotel into the southern part of the main city square, Ban Jelačić Square, and today the Hotel is part of the cultural heritage of the city. When it became part of the property portfolio of the company Dubrovačka Slobodna Plovidba, the Hotel was renamed Hotel Dubrovnik. Then in 1982, in order to meet greater demand, a new wing with 150 additional rooms was opened, designed by the well known architect Prof. Filipović. The new wing was a true reflection of its time and represents the beginning of the modern city.
 
Accommodation
The Hotel has 214 rooms and 8 suites. The Hotel has been constantly renewed and redecorated again, so that it also offers new room category, deluxe modern and luxurious rooms as well as 8 suites, decorated with the finest materials, equipped with LCD TV, anti-allergy bedding, lavish linen, anatomical beds with leather headboards, and comfortable chairs for you to relax in after a long day. Their new, spacious, elegantly appointed bathrooms with aromatic bath oils and soaps are available for your enjoyment, your very own private spa!

There are different room types: deluxe king size rooms, deluxe twin rooms, standard king size rooms, standard single rooms, standard twin rooms, junior suites and executive suites. The Hotel is specially proud of the newly furnished luxurious “Dubrovnik Crown Suite” with a unique terrace with the best view in the city of Zagreb.
