Manuela Šola: Croatian event industry needs a bolder step into technology and more dynamic formats
The Zagreb event industry scene has recently become richer with another venue that could attract the attention of organisers of business and social events. SFERA 173, located on Radnička cesta, was officially opened at the beginning of April, and with its concept and infrastructure, it announces its ambition to become one of the more interesting places for holding corporate events, conferences, product launches, gala dinners, concerts, private celebrations and weddings.
Two spaces, numerous possibilities
SFERA 173 consists of two functionally connected but independent spaces – an impressive dome with a diameter of 30 metres and an outdoor terrace with an area of more than 800 square metres. Both spaces can function as a single unit or completely separately, depending on the needs of the event.
Such a configuration allows organisers to create different scenarios for the use of the space. For example, a daily conference programme can be held in the indoor area, while networking, cocktails or an evening programme can move to the terrace. At the same time, the space is equally suitable for exclusive business dinners, product launches, trade shows, presentations, musical events or informal outdoor gatherings.
The capacities further confirm its versatility: more than 600 participants in a seated layout with round tables, more than 800 guests in a setup with rectangular tables and more than 1,000 guests in a standing format. Thanks to the possibility of combining indoor and outdoor space, organisers have at their disposal a wide range of setups adapted to different types of events.
In addition to the space itself, organisers have at their disposal a private car park with more than 80 parking spaces, sanitary facilities, heating and cooling, powerful electrical connections and easy access for delivery vehicles and trucks, which significantly facilitates the logistical preparation and implementation of events.
Production as an integral part of the event experience
One of the features of this event venue is integrated technical and production support. SFERA 173 is part of the event offer of Mozaik Grupa, and the exclusive production partner of the venue is MOJO Rental, a company that has rich experience with large concert, festival and corporate projects in Croatia and the region.
As part of the production package, a stage and sound system, ambient and dynamic lighting for indoor and outdoor spaces, lighting for key event zones and professional sound and lighting operators are available to organisers.
Such a model allows for simpler event organisation because a significant part of the technical infrastructure comes as an integral part of the location, which can result in greater operational efficiency and better control of production processes.
Along with technical support, the venue also has exclusive in-house partners for catering and ticket sales. Lobby Catering and Mrav Ugostiteljstvo are in charge of the gastronomic offer, while the upad.hr platform provides ticketing and ticket management for events that require it.
As a multifunctional event venue, SFERA 173 represents an interesting addition to the offer of the Croatian capital that meets the increasingly complex requirements of the modern event industry.
