Conventa 2026: Nine Meetings Star Awards went to Croatia

At the Meetings Star Awards ceremony, held on 11 February 2026 at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana as part of the Conventa trade show, hotels within the Maistra Hospitality Group received a total of three awards across two categories – Resort Meeting Hotel and Creative Venues. These recognitions further reinforce Croatia’s position as an increasingly attractive destination for business events.
Grand Park Hotel Rovinj – the region’s leading resort meeting hotel
Grand Park Hotel Rovinj took first place in the Resort Meeting Hotel category, once again confirming its reputation as one of the leading luxury conference hotels in this part of Europe. The hotel was recognised for its high-quality event infrastructure, architecture and service tailored to the needs of the most demanding international organisers. It was followed in the ranking by Grand Hotel Brioni Pula in second place and Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden in third.
Zonar Zagreb – creativity redefining city events
In the Creative Venues category, first place went to Zagreb’s Zonar Zagreb Hotel, a property that has in recent years established itself as one of the most innovative venues for business events in the Croatian capital. Its concept, flexible spaces and contemporary design are particularly appealing to organisers seeking a different, experience-led approach to events.

Stellar Boutique Modules – an innovative concept among the best
Third place in the same Creative Venues category also went to the innovative Stellar Boutique Modules project, further underlining Maistra’s strategy of developing unconventional and creative event spaces. Its modular concept and design-led approach offer organisers a completely new business event experience.
For business event organisers, it is particularly significant that Zagreb produced the winner in the creative venues category. The award for Zonar Zagreb Hotel reflects the growing supply of unconventional event venues in the city, an increasingly important factor when choosing a destination for conferences, incentive programmes and corporate events.
The three awards further confirm that Croatia’s hotel industry, with Rovinj as an established luxury destination and Zagreb as a dynamic urban hub, is becoming ever more competitive on the international MICE scene.
