Monte Mulini and Riva: How luxury brands create new value for the destination and incentives industry
Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonči Glavina visited Hotel Garden Istra Plava Laguna, which recently reopened following a thorough renovation, as well as the construction site of the future Savudrija Resort, two key projects in Plava Laguna's current investment cycle.
The minister and his associates were guided through the renovated hotel and the site of the future resort by Chairman of the Management Board of Plava Laguna Dragan Pujas and Management Board Member Damir Mendica. The tour was also attended by Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić and State Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Sport Monika Udovičić.
Hotel Garden Istra Plava Laguna now features 291 rooms, while a separate facility, Residence Garden Istra Plava Laguna, offers an additional 198 accommodation units. The accommodation units and corridors have been thoroughly renovated, and the reception area has been redesigned into a spacious and modern lobby with a bar and terrace. The hotel restaurant and wellness area have also been refurbished, while the children's playroom and entertainment clubs have been completely remodeled to provide families with an even higher quality and more content-rich stay. The hotel has also received a newly landscaped sunbathing area next to the outdoor pool, further enhancing the space for guest relaxation and leisure.
Following the tour of Hotel Garden Istra, the minister visited one of the largest tourism construction sites on the Adriatic – the future Savudrija Resort. The new resort will consist of a hotel and garden suites, complemented by numerous attractive amenities including swimming pools, wellness areas, family zones and various sports and recreational facilities.
The completion of works at Savudrija Resort is scheduled for spring 2027, marking another step forward in the continuous development of Plava Laguna and its commitment to improving its offering.
