Falkensteiner takes over management of Austria’s largest thermal resort Loipersdorf

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, one of the premium brands of the global hospitality group Accor, known for its hospitality, relaxed atmosphere and premium gastronomic experiences, continues to expand its international portfolio with new hotels in Croatia, Montenegro, Uzbekistan and Armenia. These hotels represent a continuation of the brand’s robust growth, following recent openings in Poland, Greece and Italy, and ahead of its planned entry into the United Kingdom market in 2027.
Founded in 1948, Mövenpick began as a pioneering Swiss restaurant brand and grew into an international hotel brand where food and beverage are at the core of the guest experience. Today, this heritage is reflected in more than 140 hotels worldwide, where premium service, inviting spaces and a rich gastronomic offering bring people together.
The second Mövenpick in Croatia
Located near Novi Vinodolski, Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Kvarner Bay is scheduled to open its doors in July 2026. The new hotel will feature the 14,000-square-metre Salterra Wellness & Spa, which will be the largest wellness centre in Croatia, offering a rich choice of treatments, heated indoor seawater pools, saunas and a Turkish hammam. The opening of Salterra Wellness & Spa is expected by the end of the year. Families will be able to enjoy the Sea Breeze pool park and the Little Birds Club.
This upcoming opening further strengthens the brand’s presence in Croatia, following Mövenpick Zagreb, which opened in June 2022 in Buzin, the capital's business district, featuring 104 rooms and suites alongside smart technology.
The hotel in Novi Vinodolski will feature 198 modernly designed rooms and suites, most of which will have private balconies overlooking the sea and the island of Krk. The hotel will house the Figo restaurant, which will offer Mediterranean dishes prepared with local ingredients and olive oil from the resort’s own olive groves, and Affamata, featuring southern Italian classics in a sharing format. Guests will also be able to enjoy premium coffee in a panoramic lounge bar with a 180° view or visit the Fjaka Beach Bar, inspired by the concept of "fjaka" (the art of doing nothing).

The hotel offers a range of elegant accommodation options, from junior suites and spacious apartments to a presidential suite with panoramic views of the city. The hotel offers the Silk and Spice restaurant, which combines regional dishes with Swiss classics, alongside the brand's daily Chocolate Hour program in the afternoon. Guests can make use of the Helvetia SPA & Wellness Centre, which includes an indoor pool, saunas and massage treatments, as well as a modernly equipped fitness centre. Planned entry into the United Kingdom market in Hampshire
Mövenpick is also preparing to enter the United Kingdom market for the first time with the Mövenpick Hampshire – Old Thorns hotel. Following an extensive renovation, its opening is planned for the end of 2027. Set across more than 300 hectares of the Hampshire countryside, about an hour away from London, the 194-room resort will bring the brand's signature hospitality and culinary heritage to this historic location.
The hotel will feature a championship golf course, 2,500 square metres of conference and meeting space, four restaurants, a wellness centre with a new spa facility and an events pavilion with a capacity for up to 500 guests. The renovation will focus on rooms, wellness and recreational facilities, as well as refreshed gastronomic concepts, thereby further strengthening the resort’s position as a countryside destination for holidays, events and business meetings in southern England.
