Sustainability is no longer a topic reserved for ESG reports and corporate presentations – it is becoming a key framework for business decision-making, market development and the long-term competitiveness of companies. These very changes will be discussed by leading domestic and international business leaders at the sixth edition of the Greencajt festival, which will take place from 1 to 3 June at a new event venue – HNK2 in Zagreb.

This year, the festival once again gathers more than 70 speakers from Croatia and abroad, with a programme connecting the themes of business, technology, energy, society, innovation and sustainable development. The focus will be on issues that are increasingly defining the future of companies today – from the resilience of business models and investment in innovation to trust, leadership and adaptation to market changes.

CEO perspectives: profit, responsibility and new market rules

One of the key names in this year's business programme is Emil Tedeschi, President of the Management Board of Atlantic Grupa, who will participate in the talk "CEO perspective: Business between profit and responsibility". The topic of the conversation will be what successful and long-term sustainable business looks like today in conditions of constant change, and what role leaders play in creating companies that can respond to increasingly complex market and societal demands.

The business part of the programme also features the panel "The Business Tipping Point", with the participation of Adrian Ježina from Telemach, Marko Mintas from Henkel Adria, Balázs Békeffy from OTP Bank and Dinko Lucić from PBZ. The panel will address questions of competitiveness, strategic adaptation and the redefinition of business advantages at a time when market standards are changing rapidly.

An additional perspective will be provided by the panel "Building What's Next: between balance sheet growth and the value we create", featuring Anita Letica from Philip Morris, Tomislav Radoš from the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Marko Klemenčič from Merkur Insurance and Dr Marin Cerjan from ENNA Next. The discussion will focus on the balance between financial results, innovation, resilience and long-term sustainability, as well as the question of where real business value is created today.

European transition and sustainability as a strategic direction

Among the most significant international guests at this year's Greencajt is Teresa Ribera, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition, who will participate in the panel "From Brussels: Europe's Next Move". Joining her will be Marija Vučković, Minister of Environmental Protection and Green Transition of the Republic of Croatia.

The panel will open up questions regarding Europe's future competitiveness, energy transition and the long-term stability of the European economy, with a special focus on the changes that will mark business and industry in the coming years.

The festival programme will also cover topics of artificial intelligence, sustainable industrial solutions, technology, nutrition and social change, confirming that sustainability is becoming a strategic direction for the development of companies and markets, rather than just an added value.

Simon Reeve concludes world tour in Zagreb

Special public attention is drawn to the arrival of Simon Reeve, the multi-award-winning BBC author and presenter, who will conclude his global tour "To the Ends of the Earth" at Greencajt.

He is one of the most famous contemporary travel and documentary journalists, whose performances in recent years have sold out venues in over a hundred cities worldwide. His appearance at Greencajt brings a blend of personal experiences, documentary stories and themes shaping the modern world – from climate change and social inequalities to community resilience and the challenges of global development.

During his career, Reeve has travelled through some of the most remote and dangerous areas of the world, passing through war zones, minefields and isolated communities, witnessing realities that rarely come into public focus. It is his perspective that will further emphasize one of the key ideas of the festival – the need for a deeper understanding of the world and the changes shaping the future of society and business.

This year, Greencajt is further opening up space for young people. In cooperation with Henkel and the "Changes start with us" initiative, students have been granted free participation in the festival, with the aim of connecting the new generation with the business leaders and experts shaping a sustainable future.

Tickets are available on the official website. More information about the Greencajt festival can be found on the social networks Instagram and Facebook.
