Many see this year as one of major turning points – a year that will test the limits of resilience and flexibility in business models.

From the practical application of artificial intelligence in operational processes to the development of backup supply chains, existing systems are set to change rapidly, and the market will clearly separate those who adapt successfully from those still trying to keep pace with change.

According to futurist and business philosopher Rik Vera, who will appear at the Future Tense powered by Lürssen conference on 22 April, „game changers do not wait for change; they lead it by questioning the rules, culture, leadership and strategy so their organisations can create new markets, rather than simply respond to them.“

Vera points out that companies which consistently ask questions, explore and test new approaches strengthen their ability to innovate and adapt, while the Net Curiosity Score shows how open they are to learning, development and new opportunities – and, as a result, how competitive they will be in the future.

He sees the ecosystem economy as one of the key tools for building organisational flexibility, a concept he explored in detail in his book The Guide to the Ecosystem Economy. In Vera’s view, traditional linear value chains can no longer meet the needs of the modern market: companies must build networks of partners that jointly develop, test and scale value.

Rik Vera is the author of several internationally published business books and an expert with many years of experience in senior management roles. He helps organisations build antifragile strategies – structures and organisational cultures that do not merely survive change, but use it to redefine value and open up new market spaces.

Alongside Rik Vera, Mikko Hyppönen, a global cybersecurity expert, will also speak at the Future Tense powered by Lürssen conference. Märtha Rehnberg will address sustainable practices and the transformation of traditional industries, while scientist Susanna Søberg will speak about longevity and burnout prevention.

In addition to Lürssen Design Center Kvarner, this year’s conference partners include Erste&Steiermärkische Bank, Visa and Kaufland, and the event is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, and the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth.

Future Tense powered by Lürssen brings together leading business leaders and representatives of the academic and scientific communities. Through cooperation with the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies (CIFS), the IEDC Bled School of Management and the Association for the Promotion of Smart Industries, it supports the development of a new generation of leaders ready to meet future challenges. The conference will take place on 22 April at the Mozaik Event Center.
